A contemporary winery immersed in 200 years of Langhe history. Welcome to Monforte d’Alba.

It all started in 1996, when the young Turin-born Paolo Monti, just 30-years-old at the time, acquired a historical estate in San Sebastiano, south of Monforte d’Alba.
Together with his friend winemaker Roberto Gerbino, he bought ten barriques from France and made their first wine: a Barbera d’Alba which was put on the market two years later. Monti’s adventure had begun.

Since then, the winery maintains the philosophy of Paolo and Roberto: “to pursue excellence, expressing precision and quality”.
Cantina Monti - Monforte d'Alba

Today the company manages 18 hectares, planted with traditional grapes, Nebbiolo and Barbera, and also some experiments that have now become part of the Langhe area, such as Riesling Renano, Chardonnay, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.

A style expressed through ten labels, each with its own personality. From the Barolos, through the great Cru of Monforte d’Alba, Bussia and Bricco San Pietro, to the historical Barbera up to the Nebbiolo d’Alba. Moreover, there is the Dossi Rossi, a Bordeaux blend plus Nebbiolo, and the Langhe Merlot to finish with L’Aura, a refined White Wine from Chardonnay and Riesling Renano, with a long potential of aging.
